(1950-1964)

During '50 the economic recover after the WWII destructions also in the territory of Silvi and the tourism rose so much that because a significant source of income. Particularly Silvi Marina was one of the sought-after the destination for tourists from the inland of Abruzzo region from Rome and Lazio region but also from other several Italian cities. On the coast there were over than 6.000 inhabitants thank to the building and operating of the railway station located at the centre of the town. Many pretty and small villas and also three hotels (Miramare Lido and Milano) were built. There was post office the cinema some terraces for dancing parties the skating ring and the drug store. Beautiful bathing establishments huts tents sunshades were located on the beach. At that time the cost for each cabin was about 15.000 Italian liras and one swim wear for male should be at 100 Italian liras. It is also reported the change from note to coins for 50 and 100 Italian liras. According to documents on July 1956 there were about 900 tourists: 858 italians 20 Germans 9 French $ English 4 Swedish 3 Belgium and 2 Austrian. The WWII and evacuation were only sad memories and slowly radio and television started to reach families. In the coastal villages the population increase and the economic development strongly infinanced the changing of the urban shape leading to the present situation.
